Our sieve bend screens feature a concave curved profile wire screen, also known as wedge wire/v/vee wire screen, which is mounted in a frame with the screen openings perpendicular to the flow. The curved screen design provides greater capacity compared to flat screens, thanks to the forces exerted as material flows against the curved surface.
Our sieve bends, also known as DSM screens, were introduced by Dutch State Mines and offer ten times greater capacity than conventional vibrating screens. As slurry flows down the screen, each wedge wire's sharp leading edge slices away a thin layer of water and small-particle solids. Larger particles continue down the screen surface, with a significant amount of liquid removed. The separation size is considerably smaller than the screen openings, typically about half the opening size.
